Melton Digital is looking for a Social Media and Content Assistant!

This role is a combination of social media management and web content writing.

Our company works exclusively with beauty and wellness brands. We will soon be expanding our client base to include digital strategy for Christian ministries and Christian bloggers.

The ideal candidate is passionate about social media, beauty, wellness and ministry to promote the Christian faith!

This is a part-time, virtual/remote position based in the Washington, DC area (Prince George’s county Maryland to be exact). Candidates must reside in the local area or be available for an in-person meeting up to three times per month (so if you choose to commute from a nearby city, that’s okay too).

Hours: Candidates must be available to work 20 hours per week, Monday-Friday with availability to respond to emails and take calls during standard business hours (9AM-6PM).

The person selected for this role would ideally be available to work with our team for at least one full year with a STRONG possibility to be promoted quickly into a full-time managerial role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT: Develop and publish social media content for Melton Digital and our clients. Platforms include Instagram, Instagram Stories, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Periscope and Pinterest.

  • Create monthly Social Media Content Calendars, incorporating branded written and visual content across multiple social media platforms
  • Contribute to developing strong visuals and graphic design for digital and social campaigns
  • Assist with developing brand partnerships with bloggers and influencers
  • Assist with blogger outreach, including researching beauty and Christian bloggers and YouTube influencers for our brands and campaigns
  • Respond to comments from fans and followers on social media accounts
  • Manage social media giveaways, sweepstakes and partnerships
  • Brainstorm ideas for social media programs, events, partnerships and other campaigns as needed

CONTENT WRITING: Write, edit and publish content for beauty and Christian ministry clients.

This includes copy for blog posts, email blasts, sales materials, newsletters, presentations, and editorial content developed every week.

  • Write and edit articles for topics covering the beauty industry and ministry
  • Master the social persona and brand voice for social media accounts and editorial outlets
  • Have a strong familiarity with news resources and photo research tools
  • Create compelling copy for client presentations and internal documents

ANALYTICS

  • Organize and produce monthly Social Media Recap Reports that analyze fan/follower growth and engagement
  • Develop, maintain, and report on email marketing campaigns
  • Track success and identify opportunities through engagement data, growth statistics, and other metrics
  • Stay current on platform changes, emerging trends and new tools that can help our clients achieve business goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A passion for the beauty industry and Christian ministry is a must! It would be awesome if you have your own beauty or Christian blog
  • Internet savvyness and a strong understanding of social media for brands
  • A strong understanding of the nuances of each digital channel and how to manage them uniquely
  • One year of social media management experience. I would also love to see that your own social media accounts are bustling with beauty, fashion and style content of your own.
  • Bachelors degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field
  • Proficiency in WordPress is a must.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Gmail
  • Experience in Mailchimp is a MAJOR plus
